KLIPS is the libreswan IPsec stack for Linux. It is different from the Linux builtin NETKEY/XFRM stack.
MAST is a KLIPS extension/rewrite with a somewhat different design. It is not used much except to offer enterprise L2TP/IPsec using IKEv1.
